As a young boy in elementary school, it was discovered that I have a learning disability that affects my reading abilities. One teacher even told my mother I would never amount to anything in life. When I was 13 years old, I started working with my uncle as a second assistant. I immediately loved photography and worked every weekend I was allowed, just to learn more. I eventually worked my way up to assistant, second shooter, then finally, I had my own team and I was the main photographer! I was booking, shooting, and editing my own jobs. Finally, after several years, I decided it was time to leave the comfort of my uncle's safety net and branch out on my own. I wanted to work on new and different projects that his company didn't specialize in.
I am still not the strongest reader you'll meet, but I haven't ever let it stop my drive to learn, and be the best I can be. I am blessed to have a business that is slowly growing and becoming a trusted name in photography. I think my so-called disability has helped me to understand that we all learn in different ways, and are strong at different things. I love to share what I have learned with anyone who has the same passion for the art of photography as I do. And, I am grateful to the teacher who said I would never amount to anything. She taught me that I can do anything I set my mind to, no matter what others may think.
2014 was an amazing year for Will Cadena Photography. I made some amazing contacts, many of whom I now consider friends. I also got to marry my best friend. With her by my side, and our puppy at my feet, I know I can conquer any challenges that come my way.

Hi Will, I just read your article and I loved hearing your story!! It was very inspiring for me. I also shoot with a 1D X and that camera is
awesome. I am a semi-professional sports photographer from Leominster, Ma. I shoot mainly for our local newspaper right now.
I hope to someday shoot college sports. If I keep on pushing and learning I know that I have a good chance to make it there some day.
Thank you for sharing your story! Your work is awesome!!
Have a great day!
