Chris here from Think Tank and I'm sorry to hear that you had such a tough time working with the MM10. It's actually one of our best selling bags as I'm sure why B&H is so excited about the new 2nd colorway that we just released.
We designed the dual closure system so that you could easily (and silently) get into the bag while it was on your shoulder. We use neodymium magnets (some of the strongest on the market) but any magnet is never a good idea for a secure closure and that's why we included high quality YKK zips (on all closures). As you mentioned, this method of dual closure will begin to train you to pick up the bag by the shoulder strap, just incase you didn't zip the zips ;)
Regarding the interior pocket, it is really designed for cables, lens caps, batteries, etc. We included 2 dedicated SD card slots in the specially designed divider and the zippered front pocket is another secure location for your cards.
Silent magnetic flap was the big draw but I had to return Mirrorless Mover 10.
Pick up the bag via the grasp handle and the magnets give way. The flap opens easily spilling your camera onto the ground. This could have been remedied with a stronger magnet(s).If you ALWAYS REMEMBER to zip the closure there is no problem, but that makes the bag a bit slow to access. I found it a problem in practice. I called ThinkTank to see if I could purchase a modification for the weak flap closure. They were very friendly but said unable to provide that service. They said nobody had ever complained about the weak flap closure and that perhaps I could substitute rare earth, i.e.stronger, magnets. That would entail taking the bag to bits to change out the sewn in magnets. I declined.
Further the chip pocket on the inside of the main flap has no secure closure and the chips fly out if you close the flap briskly. This could be simply remedied by a slightly longer bit of Velcro or the inclusion of a tiny flap. This is a decently made bag with an innovative attractive, but disappointing, magnetic closure. However it feels as if the design was not thoroughly considered before going into production. The two tone( charcoal and black) treatment may look good in the store but to my taste attracts too much attention in the field.
I would wait for the next generation of this bag in the hopes that these issues are addressed.
