Nancy Borowick is a freelance photographer who covers a variety of subjects for the New York Times, but when the lives of her parents took a turn for the worse, she realized that following their stories as they dealt with their illnesses was something that she wanted to do; needed to do. How else does a photographer deal with such moments? What followed was a year of accompanying them to hospitals, treatments, dinners, and documenting the most profound and intimate moments of a family’s life. In this incredibly beautiful and touching talk, accompanied by her wonderful images, Borowick teaches us important lessons on how to handle oneself as a storyteller and as a daughter.
