Despite being one of the earliest lenses for Sony’s full-frame mirrorless system, the Sonnar T* FE 55mm f/1.8 ZA is still one of the most distinct due to its unique focal length and impressive sharpness. Designed by ZEISS, this normal-length prime features a relatively bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, and its Sonnar optical concept uses three aspherical elements to achieve great definition and accurate rendering throughout the aperture range. It uses an internal focusing design and linear AF motor for quick and near-silent focusing performance and is weather sealed for working in trying conditions.
Applications: Distinct normal-length prime excels everywhere, ranging from portraits to landscapes, making it a great all-around choice. The Sonnar optical design also offers excellent sharpness for applications when fine details are required.
