Focusrite Announces Vocaster Podcasting Hardware
06/01/2022If you’ve ever struggled to get quality audio for your podcast, then Focusrite has your solution, with the Vocaster USB Type-C audio interface and mixer. The Vocaster makes it a breeze to produce professional-quality audio with its Auto Gain, Enhance, and Easy Start tool, which provides stellar audio at the click of a button. The Vocaster is available in four configurations: Vocaster One, Vocaster Two, Vocaster One Studio, and Vocaster Two Studio.
Vocaster One is a professional USB Type-C audio interface with a single XLR microphone preamplifier that offers more than 70 dB of gain, which mitigates the need for an additional booster. The Auto Gain feature sets the optimal level with the click of a button, while the Enhance button reveals the true quality of your voice with three settings, ensuring the best out of any voice. The mute button prevents coughs, sneezes, and other unexpected interruptions from ruining your recording. The Easy Start tool streamlines the setup and gets you going in no time. The unit also includes two 1/4" speaker outputs, a 1/4" headphone output, a 3.5mm TRRS phone connector, and a TRS camera out connector. Just like a broadcast studio, Vocaster Hub lets you set your levels, enhance your sound, route audio from your phone and computer, and more. Hear exactly what your listeners will hear with Show Mix—even without your computer.
The Vocaster Two provides the same functionality and features as the One, but with an additional microphone preamp, which is perfect for interviews and other two-person setups. The Two also includes a second 1/4" headphone output with an additional volume control, which allows your guest to set their own levels independently.
The Vocaster One Studio offers a turnkey configuration that includes the Vocaster DM1 dynamic microphone, 10' microphone cable, and HP60v closed-back studio headphones. The Vocaster DM1 features a built-in grille and pop filter, which protects the microphone diaphragm while preventing plosives from affecting your take. The HP60v allows you to hear the show as the world will and stops the mic from picking up your show mix.
The Vocaster Two Studio swaps out the Vocaster DM1 for the Vocaster DM14v, a premium dynamic microphone that captures your true voice and connects you with your audience. The Vocaster DM14v features a built-in windshield and shockmount, which prevents breath noises and rumble from ruining your recording.
All four configurations feature a software bundle to get your show out into the world. The bundle includes Hindenburg LITE for recording, six months of Acast Influencer for podcast hosting and monetization, and three months of SquadCAST Pro + Video to record your guest. You also get a six-month premium trial of Ampify Studio and Hindenburg PRO.
Whether on the go or in the studio, the Vocaster series offers a simple solution to podcasting for any situation. What’s your favorite podcasting setup? Let us know in the Comments section, below.
