The tag team of B&H’s Jake Estes, and Ryan Avery, from Tokina, discuss the new Tokina Vista One and Vista Prime lenses, at NAB 2019. The aptly named Vista series covers not only full frame but up to VistaVision and 65mm sensors, and boasts cine-standard gearing, minimal or no aberration, and a fast T1.5 maximum aperture across the six-lens set. Canon has developed a completely new line of fast PL-mount cinema primes, named Sumire, which are designed for beautiful rendering characteristics as they approach wide open. Jake Estes, from B&H, took this set of full-frame lenses out for a test shoot with the Canon C700 FF and shared his thoughts. The set included a 14mm T3.1, 20mm T1.5, 24mm T1.5, 35mm T1.5, 50mm T1.3, 85mm T1.3, and 135mm T2.2. More fun and informational videos can be found at BandH.com.
