This is a light and relatively inexpensive boom pole that does the job. There are two problems with the boom pole, perhaps shared by many others of its kind:
1. While opening the pole, one has to progress from the fattest to the thinnest member. This is a nuisance since, if one didn't want to extend it fully, one would prefer to extend only the thinner members (for better distribution of weight). I had a Rode pole earlier that had the same problem. It can probably be seen in all poles that have a threaded locking system.
2. The members spin freely relative to each other, making one wonder if the coiled cable is getting more and more twisted inside, perhaps to snap conatact with the XLR connector at some point. It's possible that the contacts are designed to swivel around, but the literature doesn't say anything about this.

The boom has internal XLR cable that save you from having to secure wires to prevent them from dangling into your shot.Well constructed but a little heavy.For the price a great piece of equipment.

This boom is solid, fair length at full. The only thing that would make it better is to have a padded grip for the boom operator.

plenty light enough, very easy to set up and store. love the interior wiring. was part of a b&h economy kit and exceeded expectations.

Love the sturdy feel of the aluminum. Great XLR cable built in.

Wish it had foam/neoprene grips for better movement. Extension twist locks seem cheaply designed.

All in all a great pole for the price.

This was included in the kit I bought to do some internet reviews for a supplement company. I'd been having troubles getting clear sound. So I ordered the kit and wow what a difference. Clear and balanced sound. Well worth the buck!

I sent this back because the internal coil rattles when you twist the pole. My NTG-3 picks up the noise easily.[...] A good boom operator must shift the pole back and forth between two actors to catch the "sweet spot" for the highest quality sound. If you want to hold the pole completely steady and just hang it over the scene, I suppose that the rattling wouldn't be too much of a problem, but I must warn, if you so much as shift your weight, you will get the noise, and it may very well ruin the take. This is utterly inexcusable in a boompole.

I have used the boom pole for 3 different projects already, and I must say, it is awesome. It is light weight compared to a few other poles I have used, yet feels sturdy enough for me not to worry about my shotgun mic when the pole is fully extended. I also use this particular pole when I am training/instructing others on how to operate audio equipment. I do think there should be some form of a plastic blocker on the bottom of the pole for when storing it away so no dust gets into the pole.

Stong and light. It works well with my lightweight gun. It also has a nice case and it compatable with all my lightwight equiptment.

Its a pretty good boom pole. Not overly flexable so it doesn't bounce around. Plugs built into the pole itself. Pretty sturdy. I reccomend getting it in a package deal with the whole set up.

Lightweight, thoug it is aluminum. The XLR jack in the bottom accepts the 105XT transmitter well.

This Product is amazing. It is strong, lightweight, and has a 3-pin XLR cable built right into it. There isn't much I can say about a boom pole, but it does work great indoors and outdoors.
