"Your only considered a professional photographer when you have a closet filled with camera bags"Well i guess i am 1/2 way there, after a few years of changing equipment i have had more than a few bags.My challange like many was a bag that would take all or most of my rig and let me carry it through an airport without anyone blinking an eye about how much it might weight. This bag fit the bill completely and then some.On a recent trip i carried this rig in it.D3 Body17-35mm24-70mm70-200mm60mm macroSB-900GPS+remote trigger8 x 77mm filtersSU-800Pixel Pocket Rocket500ml Plastic bottle of Whiskey (dry airline)All lenses were hood reversed, my intention was not to be able to get the gear out, just to transport it.That is far far far more than i expected it to carry. The shoulder strap is truely no slip, the little carry handle is very handy also.I went with the waxwear bag as i wanted a good looking bag, i certainly got what i paid for, i have had several compliments on it.I wanted a bag that was very discreet, so tamrak and lowepro were out the window because everyone knows they make bags for heavy camera users, might as well put a sign on your bag that say "My bag is over the carry on luggage limit". Did i get what i wanted? On a recent photography tour with [@] the tour leaders saw me in the hotel lobby and for a moment said to themselves "that can't be him, no way that bag has enough gear to be a photographer"My only complaint is that the flap closes with two fasteners that are quite hard to get open, i am sure they will never fall open so thats a possitive, but i felt they were a little hard to open for anyone using the bag on the go, your hands might be stronger than mine.

I have to say that after two years of use, I'm slightly disappointed with the Ruggedwear line. It's a great bag (don't get me wrong) but compared to the original fabric, the Ruggedwear wax material is much thinner, and is already developing decently sized holes in the bottom corners. That's after only two years of use... the newspaper I work at has an original F-2 in black that is easily 10+ years old, and it's in about the same shape as mine. I love Domke and the care that they put into their products but there's no doubt in my mind that the original style fabric is much better, thicker, and more rugged. As soon as this one wears out completely, I'm going back to the old style fabric.

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
At first I wasn't sure if the size was enough for my needs because I like to carry atleast 4 lenses at one time along with other things. I've heard a lot about DOMKE and the quality of the products they make. So I took the plung and I think I have invested in a bag that will last me many years. The durability and materials are perfect for my line of work (outdoor photography). I love the wax coating on the bag which makes it perfect for rain or any wet areas. I was sure about the size but after having it for two weeks it's enough room for me. If you buy the bag and aren't sure of the size, give it a week or two and I guarantee your opinion will change. Just buy one, it's worth it!!

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
I use this bag mostly when I need to pack a lot of gear and not take my very large camera backpack. This thing fits 4 or so lenses with two bodies(without lenses mounted) or 5 lenses with one of them mounted to a pro body(1 body, 5 lenses). The pro body is a tight fit at first but the more you keep it in the bag, the more it will stretch and accommodate your gear. The end pockets are absolutely huge, they can fit a mil spec 1 qt canteen at one end, and then two flashes at the other end. These pockets aren't padded so it's a bit of a risk to keep important bits in them. The padding in the bag is quite minimal, which is a nice change of pace from the other bags, which are practically cubes. This bag conforms to you as you walk and is really easy to work out of without putting it down. On top of all that the finish on the bag is quite nice, it looks good and is practical, I've taken it into the rain a couple times and it did quite nice, the inside of the bag remained bone dry while the water bubbled up on the top. The workmanship of the bag is nice as well, it's made in the u.s. The only thing that I wasn't to keen on was the few loose threads I found In a couple different places. Nothing serious, just snip the threads. I think that the price is justified as well, it's a great durable bag that few recognize as a camera bag, my reasoning was if you can easily drop a few thousand on gear, why not a couple hundred to protect and disguise your gear?
TL;DR: It's really nice.

My photography buddy has had a similar bag for years and I have always loved how easy it seemed for her to just grab her camera out and flip the top over with no hassles of making sure the flap is locked because the velcro does a great job while you're out shooting. I just love it!

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
This is my favourite bag to work out of but, there's a few things I'd definitely change if I could. The hardware that the shoulder strap attaches to is plastic, which makes me nervous -- but the buckles that close the bag are metal and all too easily bang against whatever's at the top of your bag -- i.e. your camera's LCD depending on your setup. Reversing the hardware materials would be ideal imo. The included divider can also be a bit tight and make it difficult to pull your gear out quickly (find my 28-70 w/ hood especially difficult). Otherwise, I do love the bag -- it's super comfortable, looks great, and has a ton of room -- but if you plant to pack if full, make sure to add the domke postal pad shoulder strap to your order.

I was pretty sceptical of the comments about this bag but it really is great - looks good, perfect size and just melds in.
I also remove the insert and it as a small tote bag - great for this purpose too.

I got this bag because I don't have a shoulder bag. So far I love it! It is my mane caring bag now. It has plenty of room for my canon with 3 lenses and my Bronica with a bunch of film and an extra film back. It also can fit my speed flashes nicly with a bunch of other little trinkets. The only negative thing is there are un paded spots in the main compartment, but I have a bunch of bags and made my own insert, so not a big deal.

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
I bought this bag because I was looking for a bag that would grow with me and withstand the tests of time. I have owned it for a month now and could not be more pleased.
THE PRO'S
• Tons of Room (I was unsure about the size of the bag when I purchased it if it was going to be enough for me, but after I received it I was very surprised to find not only did I have the room for my Len's Hood, 5 Lenses, A Follow Focus and Rod System, My DSLR, Charger & 4 Extra Batteries, but I still have some room to spare! VERY NICE!
• Build Quality is Outstanding (This bag was built to last, the best example I could give you would be a military grade canvas. it's VERY tough material but at the same time inside of the bag its very welcoming of equipment. The best of both worlds, Even the strap goes through the whole bag so I am not worrying about if the strap can handle the wait)
• Comfort and Style (This bag is very comfortable to carry, and extremely stylish. Gotten alot of compliments on the bag. As we all know sometimes we wanna present ourselves right, and that starts with the bag's that we carry right down to the final artwork that we hand our customers)
CONS
• I have not yet found any Con's with this bag. it has been outstanding in every way and absolutely worth the price.

This bag is a quality product. This bag looks nice, feels nice and does the job. It rests comfortably against the body and doesn't get in the way. I had always admired the style of the Domke bags, so I finally bought one.
The Domke USPO shoulder pad makes for a great addition if you get used to carry much equipment.

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
I bought this bag to use when a backpack is overkill and my everyday shoulder bag is too small. This bag is extremely versatile - it can be small if you pack light, and somehow seems to grow as you pack it full of gear. I can slide my 13" Macbook Pro into the back pocket and even though it sticks up well over the top of the bag it stays put. And, I find the strap very comfortable, especially for having no padding built into it. I haven't owned this bag long enough to test it's long-term durability, but I've been "rugged" with it since day 1 and haven't found a flaw yet.

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
I use the bag for my only camera bag. There is plenty of room for my Nikon D7000, with 18-200 lens, plus my 12-24, plus many other accessories. It's soft enough to form, sturdy enough to support the camera. The end pockets are great too.
I'm not so sure about the waterproofing with the closed lid, but it does allow awesome access. The rugged look is cool, but the oil coating does leave you a little greasy, just like a "Drizabone" oil-skin jacket (Aussies will know what I mean).

As a long-time pro that has used a wide variety of bags through the years, I have to say I'm impressed. For the last decade or so I've used backpack-style bags. I wasn't sure how this would work out, transitioning back to a shoulder bag.
I love the material, workmanship and military-spec snaps. I'm thinking this may be my favorite bag in 30 years as a professional photographer.

Comments about Domke F-2 Ruggedwear Shooters Bag:
very roomy. it can fit my camera body(pentax k-x) with lens attached (sigma 10-20)a few primes(stacked, with some padding between them) and a telephoto zoom in the removable padded insert alone, which takes up about half the space of the main compartment, leaving the other half for other gear you might want to carry around.
Removable inserts and bottom board makes it easy to convert it into a 'normal' bag. Not a bag for carrying laptops, although I can squeeze in my laptop (macbook pro 13-inch)with a padded sleeve. the corners will stick out and the 'shape' of the bag would be stretched.
The metal clasps can make it difficult to open the bag with one hand and takes a bit of getting used to even with two, for someone like me who is used to plastic clips.
Overall, it's a very well built bag with exellent finishing and has room for more equipment than you'd wish to carry around on your shoulders.

I use it for every day shooting. There is enough room for your basic lenses and a couple of bodies with small accessories like filters etc... Built well with strong straps. I like the feel and the wear of the material. Feels professional and well made.
