Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
The Pelican case that was purchased is an excellent product! I could not be more happy with it. The delivery was a lot faster then expected and my purchase arrived in great condition. Its got tuns of space and for its size it is extremely light. It is a great multiple purpose item. With 7 latches, waterproof seals and a rock solid body you'll never worry about your items getting harmed while inside this case. If your thinking about buying it, go with your gut. Its worth it.
Thanks B&H, keep up the great work!

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
it arrived the day after I ordered with free shipping. Service doesn't get any better than that! I needed to fly a lot of video gear cross country. Only had to pay SW airlines $50 for overweight bag. Saved $$ and hassles by not having to ship via FedEx. With the pick and pack foam I was easily able to fit everything very securely. The Pelican is waterproof and practically indestructible. No worries with everything snuggly secured in the foam. And I shipped 3 cameras, tripod abs monopod, battery chargers and batteries, cords, even a video projector and scan converter.

The case is very well built and the Pick n Pluck foam insert is easy to customize for any type of sensitive equipment.
I use it to ship product samples and presentation equipment around the country.
This is my 3rd Pelican case I own and they all perform above expectations.

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
This case is by design a work horse. Everything you read about build quality is totally true. This was my first Pelican case and I've just ordered my second.
I took it on four trans atlantic flights so far and it looks brand new still.
The foam is very easy to configure.
You do need to be aware of how heavy the case is. It can take up nearly half of an economy baggage allowance itself. And its not cheap although over the years it should last I think its negligible for a professional with expensive equipment.
Even makes a pretty good seat in the airport.

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
This is a wonderful case, I use it to transport my Glidecam setup. The wheels and handle make it very easy to roll around, and the typical Pelican construction quality keeps me from worrying about damage to the contents. It was very easy to create spaces in the included foam. I would recommend this case to anyone needing to store and transport large valuable cameras or other equipment.

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
The only drawbacks are that is doesn't have as many layers of foam as some of the smaller cases, and it is not small enough to be a carry on, which is important to me because I love my Sony FS100 and must have in my hands alone!

The most protective case you can find. A little heavy but I knew that going into it. Great protection, waterproof so no worries of spilling on it. Durable and solid all around so the weight is easily justified.

We use it for all our Audio gear and it has protected it for the last 7 years! The only bad part is the Pluck and Pull padding, it falls apart after 3-4 years.

I bought this case for my Sony Nx5. I like having the added protection for the camera and all of my accessories for it. I have the camera in the middle. On the left side I have several batteries, the charger, remote, cables, wireless mic rcvr box, and a few other things. The right side is completely open right now. The case has wheels and a pull up handle which are very convenient. If I ever get an out of town shoot, I can just ship the case with everything inside and be ready to go.

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
I work in Police Communications and when we carry, transport and deploy equipment it is absolutely essential that the gear gets there in one piece and it still actually works once on site. There are times when others take our gear into the field and don't know what is in it and are pretty rough with it. With the custom foam inserts you can make darn near anything fit like a glove. The transport style case really saves your back as it is huge and the equipment we carry is heavy so the wheels and extra handles for team carry is great too!

I use this case for transporting & protecting my flat panel screens.
The pick N Pluck foam is great for getting the right size to hold the screens well.
This case is a great size for holding two flat panel screens (depending on size of course).
The seven latches are great for making sure the case is secure.
Overall a great case, and I would purchase it again.

Comments about Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black):
I got this case to house my camera kit (minus camera) for travel and storage. This included a rail system, matte box, follow focus, HD monitor, DAT Recorder, filters, and other odds and ends. I knew the kit would be either checked baggage on flights or shipped ahead and wanted something nearly bomb proof. Having used Pelican gear for years on the job, this *MY* first purchase.
It worked perfectly. I took my time cutting the pick-n-pluck foam and was very very happy with how tightly everything fit inside. I don't worry about anything bouncing around, scratching, or damage from falls. The only change I would recommend is 3 layers of pick-n-pluck foam instead of 2. What this means is when you're planning your cuts in the foam, you get one of two depths. If you're item is too deep for the first layer, its going all the way to the bottom layer. Not a big issue since there's 1" of foam padded on the top & bottom even with both layers of pick-n-pluck cut away. It just means there may be about 1" or so of space for the object to move. An extra layer of foam (making each layer thinner), would allow you to customize the depth more accurately, though I believe the two layer system is fairly universal through the pelican cases. The case is heavy, but with everything loaded inside, it weighs in at 47.5lbs (I smiled every time the airline guys weighed it).
After my first flight, it was readily apparent the case was a necessity. The slight wear on the outside was enough to let me know the baggage guys weren't gentle in handling my precious gear. I didn't worry for a second though, I knew when I opened it up, everything would be perfect inside. Pelican gear doesn't disappoint.
Keep in mind, this is not something you're going to carry on to a plane. This is not a case you're going to use if you only work locally or "light". This is a case to use when you have lots of cases (you're tossing around a lot of gear), you're shipping stuff, and you don't care what it costs, you're going to protect your gear from anything short of a weapon of mass destruction (while not protected by warranty in such a case... my money is on the pelican).
