Updates for Dough Monitor Lineup

CES news kicks off this week with a barrage of announcements, including some updates from the team at Dough, for its Spectrum Black series of monitors. For starters, the company’s 27" Spectrum Black monitor is finally available and should be finding its way to retailers soon. Dough also announced a new Corning Gorilla Glass-equipped 27" variant of its Spectrum One monitor, expected to be available in the coming weeks.

The Spectrum One monitor is designed to be a general-purpose unit, whether that means writing code, editing content, or gaming. It’s a 4K-ready monitor with great picture quality, thanks to an anti-reflective DXC coating applied to its Gorilla Glass display. Its refresh rate tops out at 144 Hz. It has multiple inputs, including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4, and an upstream USB-C port that allows you to run the display and built-in USB hub while charging your source device at 100W. According to Dough, this version was designed to be a perfect fit for users splitting their time between devices like a MacBook and PS5. As for color calibration, you're looking at 100% sRGB and 98% DCI-P3 coverage. It even has a built-in KVM switch that allows the user to switch their USB devices and video signal between devices with the click of a button.

The company also showed off more details for the 32" version of its Spectrum Black monitor. Dough claims that the 32" will feature LG's latest WOLED panel. If this is your first time hearing about a WOLED display, or white organic light-emitting diode display, in the simplest terms, WOLED displays have an additional white subpixel alongside the traditional red, green, and blue (RBG) ones. The technology is designed to help with overall brightness. Also unique to the 32" version is the inclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 alongside HDMI 2.1 and USB-C inputs. The monitor also uses dynamic frequency and resolution (DFR) technology that allows it to function at 4K resolution with up to a 240Hz or 1080p resolution up to 480Hz. The 27" version of the Spectrum Black has a mostly similar feature set with a few key omissions. It only supports DisplayPort 1.4, for starters, and has a set resolution of 2560x1440 since it’s missing DFR support.

The 27" Spectrum Black monitor, as well as the new Spectrum One, should be making their way to retailers shortly. Look for more details on the 32" version including availability further down the road. Will you be picking up one of these monitors to upgrade your current setup?
