G-Technology Storage for Media and Entertainment Professionals

Modern entertainment has become quite demanding, thanks to advances like 4K content, sophisticated CGI (computer-generated imagery), and uncompressed high-quality audio. To help professionals in these areas, G-Technology has released the G-Rack 12 SAS NAS Server, available in 48, 72, 96, and 120TB configurations. These servers are equipped with high-end components consisting of dual Intel® Xeon™ six-core processors and 128GB of RAM, as well as features like NLE (non-linear editing) integration, iSCSI compatibility, and the latest BTRfs file system for data management. Additionally, these servers are equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet ports for fast network connectivity and file transferring. Each server has a total of twelve bays, individually populated with 2, 6, 8, or 10TB drives depending on the selected configuration. The drives used in these servers are HGST enterprise-class hard drives, which helps to ensure long-term use and delivers quick read and write speeds.

The G-Rack 12 is a reliable and scalable solution for your storage needs. Therefore, you can connect a separately sold G-Rack Expansion Chassis, also available in 48, 72, 96, and 120TB configurations, to expand your storage space easily. By combining a 120TB server and four 120TB expansion units, you’ll have up to 500TB of usable storage; however, RAID sets are limited to 28 drives. To keep the drives cool and operational, both the server and expansion chassis are equipped with three speed-adjustable 8cm PWM (power width modulation) fans. The G-Rack 12 uses its own operating system, which has a user-friendly GUI (graphic user interface) and is installed on its own drive. Furthermore, both the server and expansion chassis come with rack rail and rail kit mounting accessories for flexible mounting options, as well as front bezel locking keys to keep your data safe and secure. It is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems running versions 10.9+, and 10, 8.1, and 7, respectively.
