Every year, Intel® releases a set of new processors that pushes boundaries further, allowing us to enjoy the benefits of the latest tech. The new Intel Core™ i5 and i7 Kaby Lake™ processors bring a slight bump in clock speeds over the previous generation of Intel® Skylake™ CPUs while maintaining the same Thermal Design Power of up to 45W to maintain a more than acceptable choice for the mobile notebook market. To keep pace with next-gen tech, MSI has armed its notebooks with these processors to better handle the vast amounts of content from GTX graphics cards and its multi-storage design, which offers ultra-fast SSDs along with high-capacity hard drives. With VR becoming an emerging force, the Intel Kaby Lake processors can handle the various input and output signals coming from the VR controllers and position-tracking sensors. In addition, faster processor technologies are needed to handle the slew of data coming from the USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces, which transmit at a rate of 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s, respectively.
MSI’s CX, PE, GS, GP, GL, and GT-series notebooks are designed to satisfy everyone’s needs with a system tailored for each individual play style. Starting with the casual gamer, the 15.6" CX62 notebook has an Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card to play MOBA style games. A few steps up from this model is the GP line that delivers an ultra-fast 120 Hz panel with a 5ms response time, as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics with 3GB of GDDR5 video memory. For the constant traveler, the GS series offers 4K gaming with an Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake processor, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphic engine, and dual storage drives while remaining under 4 lb. Aside from the internal components, most of these notebooks come with a choice of 14, 15.6, 17.3, or 18.4" screen sizes, letting you choose between mobility and immersion. There’s also the MSI VR ONE system, which you carry on your back and connects directly to the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, for VR enthusiasts.
The flagship of this lineup is the 18.4" GT83VR Titan SLI, which sports two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 graphics cards fused with SLI technology. The two models come outfitted with an Intel Core i7-7920HQ processor that is equipped with 8MB of cache memory, along with four cores that run at speeds of up to 4.1 GHz. To make sure the processor doesn’t get a chance to throttle down, the two 512GB SSDs operate under PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 lanes and in a RAID 0 array for extreme read and write speeds. 64GB of RAM is also available, letting you game and stream your eSport matches. For keeping up with the action, the onboard keyboard comes with Cherry MX Speed Sliver switches along with customizable RGB lighting. Other notable jaw-dropping features include an integrated four-speaker and subwoofer package, Killer DoubleShot Pro, and Thunderbolt™ 3. I can’t imagine what other goodies a gamer would want, so let us know what other must-haves you need in a gaming notebook from MSI, in the Comments section, below.

Instead of just a quad processor, there are chipsets out there that run 8 and 10 thread. How about one of those chips. Now you would have a machine I would want. I edit 4k - 6k RAW files and turn that into video with Adobe Premier and After Effects. I need fast processor and great graphics cards to run multiple monitors while home, and when on the road at photo shoots and film shoots and to have a great native 4096 x 2160 4K resolution screen true color if possible. Some of us actually work on our gaming computers when not playing games. :)
