Achieving cinema-quality projection at home just got a little easier with the announcement of BenQ’s latest in-home theater, the W5800. Building on the very popular HT5550 model, BenQ upgraded the W5800 with an upgraded laser light source capable of delivering 2600 lumens to make your content look even better no matter where you're watching it. The result could be BenQ’s best home theater projector yet.
Experience Content as the Creator Intended
The upgraded laser light source means the projected image looks brighter with more accurate pixel-by-pixel reproduction and considerably longer life expectancy compared to similar models. The increase in brightness also means that the W5800 can produce a larger image and allow you to enjoy your content without the need to be in total darkness. It's also capable of producing an immersive diagonal screen up to 200". Aside from being quite bright, its calibrated for 100% DCI-P3 color coverage (the standard for professional cinemas) and Delta E< 2 color accuracy, ensuring satisfying cinematic color, right out of the box. Combine that with a Filmmaker Mode that supports 24 fps playback without judder, you'll experience content just as the director envisioned. Keep in mind that you always have access to full suite of settings to tweak to your heart’s content too.
Connectivity and Placement
The W5800 is equipped with features that make installation as painless as possible. It accepts native 4K content via HDMI 2.0b inputs, and USB-A connections are available to play content from a flash drive or power an HDMI streaming dongle. As for audio ports, the W5800 supports multi-channel audio via HDMI eARC and Optical outputs. Additionally, a low-noise multi-channel cooling system keeps it running quietly at under 30 decibels. Placement is a breeze too thanks to a standard-throw lens with motorized 1.6x optical zoom and generous lens shifting capability.
The W5800 looks ready to raise the bar for what home projection can be. We're excited for the release and can’t wait to see it in person.
