LG Unveils Improved AI in 2024 OLED evo TV Lineup

LG continues to roll out upgraded offerings at CES 2024, with its announcement of new SIGNATURE OLED evo M4 and OLED evo G4 TVs. As with the brand’s QNED lineup, the new OLED models include a significant boost in picture and audio quality, thanks to the Alpha 11 AI processor. Graphic performance is increased by 70%, along with 30% faster processing. This additional power is used to enhance upscaling with precise pixel-level analysis, as well as Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro for more lifelike brightness and contrast optimizations.

This new technology is most realized in the M4 line, now in a 65" screen size, with other models ranging in size up to an ultra-large 97". In addition to upgraded processing, the M4 utilizes LG’s Zero Connect Box, which eliminates TV cable clutter by accepting all cable connections and transmitting video and audio wirelessly to the display. LG has managed to improve this technology to achieve a world-first wireless transmission of 4K content at 144 Hz refresh, thus making it ideal for movies, TV, and lag-free gaming.

Gaming is further enhanced with LG’s Game Optimizer, letting you switch presets based on game genre, and offering support for NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync. The new M4 and G4 OLED TVs are rounded out with AI Sound Pro, an AI-enhanced virtual 11.1.2 built-in surround system that uses AI to separate vocals from the soundtrack to achieve clearly understood dialogue. There is also an updated webOS system for streaming and up to 10 voice-enabled user profiles, built-in AirPlay and Chromecast mobile streaming, and smart home integration using Matter.

LG saved the best for last today, with the bombshell announcement of the LG SIGNATURE OLED T 4K. This TV creates a new category in home entertainment with the world's first wireless transparent OLED TV. No longer will homes need to accommodate the big black box of a traditional display. When powered off, the SIGNATURE OLED T 4K can be set to an always-on mode that combines a see-through canvas with overlaid content, such as the weather, artwork, and video clips. You can even choose to create a colorful ticker for news and other information, or multi-color ambient lighting for the room. Placement in a space can now be disconnected from a wall, allowing the TV to be a room divider or set against a window. When it's time to watch a movie or play a game, a contrast screen can be raised with the push of a button for picture-perfect OLED brilliance at 4K.
