Samsung’s new HDR 4K UHD smart TVs are making their way to B&H, and there are quite a few to choose from. The TU7000 and TU8000 series both support the HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG HDR formats, Motion Rate 120 technology for smooth action, and Auto Low Latency Mode for an enhanced gaming experience. Both models also work with Amazon Alexa and Samsung Bixby, and Google Assistant will be available on both following a future firmware update. Both series share a host of features, but the TU8000 adds Ambient Mode, allowing the TV to display visuals or at-a-glance news when the TV is otherwise not in use.
The Q60T series is Samsung’s entry-level QLED that includes all the same features as the TU8000, but with 100% DCI-P3 color volume, thanks to Quantum Dot technology. The Q60T also adds dual-LED backlighting technology, which uses dedicated warm and cool LED backlights to offer enhanced contrast and color tone.
The Q70T steps up by upgrading Ambient Mode to Ambient Mode+, which adds décor and artwork options. Motion Rate 120 also upgrades to Motion Rate 240 to further smooth out fast on-screen motion. Gamers will be happy with the addition of AMD FreeSync technology to help reduce tearing and stuttering. Additionally, the Active Voice Amplifier feature adjusts the dialogue of your content to compensate for the ambient noise in your home.
The Object Tracking Sound feature of the Q80T uses dedicated up- and down-firing speakers to track on-screen motion to help create a more immersive, three-dimensional sound experience. Further, if you have a Samsung Q series soundbar, it will work seamlessly with the TV’s onboard speakers to create more realistic virtual surround sound imaging. Please note, though, that the 49" Q80T includes Motion Rate 120 and does not include the Object Tracking Sound feature.
The Frame LS03T series stands out among the pack with Art Mode, which displays the work of art of your choice when you’re not watching TV. An onboard motion sensor activates this mode from standby when you enter the room, so the artwork and power consumption aren’t wasted on an empty room. To add to the artwork look, the Frame series uses optional interchangeable bezels, which can be swapped for the color of your choice to suit your décor. The included OneConnect Box routes the TV’s power and all your inputs to the TV with just one 16.4' virtually invisible cable.
