Samsung laid out its new and updated display and audio technologies for the home at CES 2024. These products will allow customers to enjoy brilliant visuals from a new flagship QD-OLED TV, wireless 8K projection, and AI-powered QLEDs. These displays can be paired with updated soundbar offerings in addition to a new Music Frame, which delivers an audio-only spin to Samsung’s Frame concept.
Unsurprisingly, new displays are at the forefront of Samsung’s CES 2024 lineup, starting with the brand’s updated flagship QD-OLED TV, the S95D. This third-generation TV continues to utilize quantum dot technology for rich and vivid color, but now incorporates an updated hard-coating layer that promises to all but eliminate glare. The S95D will come in sizes up to 77" at refresh rates up to 144 Hz and will include the One Connect Box for single-wire connection to all components and consoles.
Eliminating cables altogether is the Premiere 8K. The new projector can produce a screen of up to 150" and showcases the world’s first wireless transmission of 8K video, bringing your living room closer to a true movie theater experience. Rounding out the display announcements are refreshes to Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED 4K line, now with an updated NQ8 AI Gen3 processor. The NQ8 has eight times the NPUs of previous models, and it runs twice as fast. This results in sharper detail, a smoother user interface, and better support for AI-based features, such as 8K AI Upscaling Pro, AI Motion Enhancer Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro.
Updated soundbars and the new Music Frame complement the displays with immersive sound. The new flagship HW-Q990D soundbar provides 11.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos sound with pass-through for content up to 4K at 120 Hz. If space is a consideration, the HW-S800D is ultra-thin at only 1.6" deep, fitting seamlessly into most spaces. Ten drivers include up-firing and center channels for a surround sound experience with clearer dialogue, along with an external subwoofer for powerful bass.
An offshoot of Samsung’s Frame TV, the Music Frame is a new, audio-only frame with dual woofers, tweeters, and mid-range drivers for balanced sound. Like a picture frame, it hangs on a wall and provides a front-facing section that accepts a physical art print. The Music Frame can operate alone or be synced up to your Samsung display and soundbar using Q-Symphony technology, which links all compatible speakers to deliver room-filling sound.
