Samsung QLED TVs Have Arrived

0Share

Samsung QLED TVs have arrived at B&H and, with three series to choose from, they have a lot to offer; but before diving into the models and their differences, what exactly is QLED?

QLED is an LCD panel with a layer of quantum dots acting as the light source. Since each quantum dot illuminates each pixel, QLED displays can achieve a higher contrast ratio than traditional LED-backlit LCD panels because, like OLED panels, each pixel can effectively be turned “off” to produce zero light.

With the technical jargon out of the way, there are three series of QLED TVs; the Q7F-series, which is available in 55, 65, and 75" models; the Q8C-series, which is available in 55 and 65"; and the 65" Q9F-series. The models with an “F” are flat, while the “C” in “Q8C” indicates a curved panel. The Q9F-series has features, such as Q | 4K HDR Elite+ with Infinite Array, that will further enhance contrast and color detail over the other QLEDs.

Similarities between these series include UHD resolution, HDR compatibility, 120 Hz refresh rates with Motion Rate 240 for digital image enhancement, and smart TV functionality, including a full web browser and the Samsung Smart Hub. All models also include Samsung’s One Connect Box, which houses all the display’s connectivity, highlighted by four HDMI inputs and three USB inputs.
