Power and Simplicity: Aputure Light Storm 600d LED

0Share

Hot on the heels of the popular Light Storm 600d Pro, Aputure has just announced the lighter, streamlined Aputure Light Storm 600d for productions in need of a budget-friendly LED capable of producing the same impressive power output with fewer bells and whistles aboard. By eliminating the pro model’s built-in CRMX functionality, weather resistance, and battery charging functionality, the 600d is able to shed about five pounds of weight and reach a more affordable price point for cost-conscious photographers and videographers.

At the heart of the 600d is a 600W COB LED, the same as the pro version, positioning the new light among the brightest point-source LEDs on the market, capable of outputting more than 8,500 lux when paired with Aputure’s Hyper-Reflector, or 29,300 lux when used with the F10 Fresnel. Brightness can be controlled in 1% increments and fine-tuned via linear, exponential, Log, or S-Curves. Eight built-in effects can simulate environmental lighting for video capture.

Cordless operation offers half output via 2 V-Mount or Gold-Mount batteries and remote control is possible via the Sidus Link Bluetooth App or DMX. Like all Light Storm models, the 600d features a Bowens mount, making it compatible with a wide range of modifiers to shape the light as needed. A curved, handbrake-locking yoke permits 360-degree rotation and a dual junior/baby pin adds standard compatibility for mounting. A rolling case is included for safe transport and storage.
