The ARRI Orbiter Projection Optic Arrives for the Orbiter LED Light System

Professional video light company ARRI has just released the ARRI Orbiter 25° Projection Optic and the Orbiter 35° Projection Optic for its Orbiter LED light system and ARRI Spectra light engine. The precision projection optics give filmmakers, creatives, theater lighting crews, and broadcast studios a crisp light spot with an even edge-to-edge field, no color aberrations, and no hot spots.

Each projection optic also provides gobo projection and precise shutter cuts. Spot focus is provided by a motorized focus adjustment system that can be controlled remotely with the ARRI Orbiter’s Lighting Operating System—LiOS2—or on the unit allowing for precision and repeatability—cut after cut. There are four manually adjustable shutter blades for even more light shaping control. Both the shutter blade cut and beam edge are designed to have sharp edges—no light fade.

Mounting and dismounting the projection optics is simple with the Orbiter’s unique Quick Lighting Mount system, which allows 90° of rotation while keeping the optics secure. Once mounted, a standard B-size metal or glass gobo can be added, too, via the ARRI gobo holder. Other ARRI accessories may be added, as well.
