Today, Apple announced its newest iMac featuring the powerful M4 chip and Apple Intelligence. Those technological advancements combined with an ultra-thin design and wide spectrum of color options means the all-new iMac is both incredibly efficient and aesthetically pleasing, a posh powerhouse that looks every bit as good as it performs.
Thanks to its powerful M4 chip, the new iMac delivers enhanced daily productivity with stronger performance that can handle demanding workflows like photo editing and even gaming. The M4's Neural Engine is over three times faster than the previous M1 chip, allowing users to expand their AI capabilities. Additionally, the integrated GPU offers smooth gameplay, allowing you to experience titles like the upcoming Civilization VII on the iMac's 24-inch 4.5K Retina display.
Multiple USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 speeds, giving you fast data transfers so you can connect even more accessories such as hubs, storage drives, and more. You can even support up to two external displays with a max 6K resolution, expanding your screen real estate for enhanced multitasking.
The new iMac also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless protocols for your networking and peripheral support, respectively. Touch ID is also built into the core design of the iMac, allowing you to access your system, pay with Apple Pay, download applications, and even switch between different user profiles with just a fingerprint.
A new 12MP Center Stage camera with support for Desk View raises the quality of your conference calls and presentations. Center Stage keeps everyone perfectly centered while Desk View makes use of the wide-angle lens to show a top-down view of their desk. Studio-quality triple-microphone array with beamforming technology allows others to hear you clearly. Meanwhile, the six-speaker sound system delivers crisp audio whether you are listening to others presenting or simply enjoying your favorite media.
Apple Intelligence has also been baked into the new iMac, giving users access to powerful generative models with industry-first privacy protection. Available with macOS Sequoia 15.1, Apple Intelligence allows users to refine their words by rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text nearly everywhere. A newly redesigned Siri offers enhanced assistance with spoken and typed requests. In December, new features will be added to Apple Intelligence, such as Image Playground, Genmoji, and more.
iMac with M4 comes in an array of seven new colors, including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue, alongside the classic silver model. Each iMac comes with a set of color-matched Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse or optional Magic Trackpad, all of which now feature a USB-C port for easy charging.
The new baseline iMac includes the 8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory, 256GB of storage, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and the non-Touch ID Magic Keyboard. For users who want more power, you can upgrade the iMac up to 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 32GB of unified memory, 2TB of storage, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, and the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. A new nano-texture glass option is also available which reduces screen glare without compromising image quality, ideal for brighter rooms and areas like storefronts.
The iMac wasn’t the only big reveal this week.
