A portable tripod is an easy way to step up your videography game, and Ulanzi has a strong new offering, the JJ06 GlideGo. Though it weighs just 3.88 lb, the legs on the JJ06 can hold up to 39.7 lb, and the included ball head can support up to 11 lb. The tripod has a maximum working height of 73.6”, but a folded length of only 20.3”. Other appealing features include flexible vertical tilt, full 360° panning, and a center column that can aid in vertical and low angle shooting.
Ulanzi has been making tripods for a while now, and the JJ06 packs in a lot of their biggest innovations. The center column splits off into two distinct sections that can independently bend to get your camera sideways, upside down, close to the ground, or at an angle. The column also has a ballast hook to help keep the tripod secure at off-angles.
The ball head uses a “Uka” Arca-type quick release plate with a safety lock for added security. It can pan 360°, tilt forward up to 60°, and tilt back up to 50°. The ball head also assists in leveling the tripod and achieving more creative angles. The carbon fiber legs are five section, and can angle out at 22°, 55°, and 80°.
The tripod comes with a soft carrying case, as well as a multi-tool that slots into the bottom of the pan handle. There are 1/4"-20 threaded accessory holes where the legs meet the center column, as well as a bubble level on the ball head.
