ARRI continues to build out the live production capabilities of their popular ALEXA 35 cinema camera with the new LPM-1 Live Production Monitor. This 10” on-camera LCD screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio, 900:1 contrast ratio, and can go up to 1500 nits for use in bright, outdoor environment. The LPM-1 is a touchscreen but also has four physical rotary knobs and four customizable buttons below the LCD.
The LPM-1 is built to integrate seamlessly into the ALEXA 35 Live camera and Live Production System (LPS-1), connecting to the camera via only a viewfinder cable and not taking up either of the SDI outputs. The monitor has tally lights on the front and rear, as well as a joystick, lock button, and adjustable camera identification number display on the rear. Mounting points abound, with ARRI Pin-Locks in ¼” and 3/8” sizes, as well as a VESA 100-compatible M4 interface.

As you’d expect, the LPM-1 has classic monitoring tools like waveforms, zebra stripes, vectorscopes, and false color. Connectivity options are flexible, with a three-pin Fischer for power, a tally input, ethernet, USB-C, a 12G-SDI in, and a 12G-SDI in/out. ARRI also designed a dedicated monitor yoke support—the MYS-2—for use with the LMP-1. The MYS-2 attaches via NATO rail to top handles and can be adjusted to a wide variety of angles.
