ARRI is raising the bar for lens control with the new cforce MAX lens motor. Expect speeds of up to 400 teeth per second, plus low latency, LBUS compatibility, a touchscreen interface, and four-level adjustable torque. The cforce MAX is twice as fast and 15% lighter than cforce Plus motors, yet just as powerful. Compared to cforce Mini motors, expect twice the speed and strength with only a 15% increase in size. With its impressive balance of weight and ability, the cforce MAX is ideal for large cine, zoom, and vintage lenses, used handheld, in a studio, on a stabilizer, or mounted on a drone.
Each cforce MAX motor has a responsive full-color touchscreen for adjusting settings. There’s also a single haptic button for essential functions like calibration and axis selection. The home screen of the display is customizable with color-coding, adjustable brightness, and automatic rotation. Flexible calibration modes include Manual, Automatic with end-stop detection, Encoder Limits for setting custom axis limits, and Soft for protecting vintage and stiff lenses.
The cforce MAX motors have LBUS backwards compatibility and dual LBUS ports for daisy-chaining. Expect deep compatibility with the ARRI ecosystem, including the Hi-5, Hi-5 SX, WCU-4, and SXU-1 hand units, as well as the OCU-1 and ZMU-4 controllers, and the Master Grips. The cforce MAX motors interface best with modern ARRI cameras like the ALEXA 35, 35 Xtreme, 265, Mini LF, and Mini, but can be used with older bodies via an RIA-1 unit.
The low latency and high speeds of the cforce MAX motors make them ideal for focus tracking systems that require rapid, unplanned movement, but should also be widely appreciated by focus pullers. Releasing alongside the motors is the new ARRI Motor Rod Clamp MRC-1, available in 19mm or 15mm variations. The MRC-1 provides a rock solid connection and easy adjustments, and can be used with cforce mini and cforce mini RF motors too.
