The new versions take the existing combo editions and swap out the basic remote controller for one with a built-in touchscreen. The refresh of the S1 and X1 combos let new fliers leave their phones in their pockets, as each showcases a controller that boasts a built-in 5.5” multi-touch display that can provide essential telemetry data and a live view of what the drone sees in 1080p60 resolution. The screen also offers 700 nits of brightness for better daylight operation, and plenty of power with up to 3 hours of runtime.
Both drones still offer stunning ultra-high-res video capture, tracking, intelligent flight modes, and come in at under 249g, letting them fly in the US without requiring registration. The S1 captures video at 4K60 resolution with a 1/2” CMOS sensor and SR-Log 8-bit color mode. Ready for social media, true 2.7K vertical videos can be taken for direct uploading to YouTube or TikTok. It’s also safe to fly, with a smart return-to-home function and both forward and downward obstacle sensing.
The X1 steps it up with 4K60 HDR video capture using a 1/1.32” CMOS and SR-LOG 10-bit HLG color mode; and its social media-friendly true vertical videos can be taken at a full 4K resolution. Safety features of the X1 include the same smart return-to-home function of the S1, but with an all-encompassing 360-degree omnidirectional obstacle sensing system.
