For those needing a portable monitor, switcher, and streaming device, check out the new OBSBOT Talent 2, an all-in-one multi-cam live streaming and production studio. With the Talent 2, you can stream, record, and switch up to 11 video sources at 4K60p. Building on the original Talent’s 5.4” screen, the Talent 2 has a 7” 1920 x 1080 AMOLED touchscreen capable of 800 nits, a big step up from the 350-nit maximum brightness of the original.
The expanded inputs and outputs of the Talent 2 are also impressive: four HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs, two USB-C inputs, a USB-C output, a USB-A input, a 3.5mm in, a 3.5mm out, and an RJ45 port for networking. The Talent 2 can steam via NDI, SRT, RTMP, or RTSP, and can handle NDI HX3 inputs. Streaming and networking is through tri-band Wi-Fi (2.4, 5, and 6 GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.5G Ethernet. 5G connectivity requires a separately sold 5G modem in the SIM card slot or a USB modem.

The Talent 2 can support up to four simultaneous streams, and the ISO recording can save up to four isolated video sources to aid post-production adjustments. Recordings can be in MP4 or MOV formats and saved to an external USB drive, a microSD card, or the 128GB of internal storage. The Talent 2 can also tether to your phone’s data connection via USB. Replay functionality is built in, as is audio-based auto-switching, link aggregation, NDI tally lights, and dual-screen control.

You can control the Talent 2 via the touchscreen, a web browser, or the Live App on a smartphone or tablet. In turn, the Talent 2 can control PTZ cameras via VISCA over IP, as well as webcams via UVC protocols. It’s built to work especially well with OBSBOT’s own Tiny, Meet, and Tail series cameras. The Talent 2 can be powered via the barrel port or with two NP-F style batteries on the back. The battery plates do support hot swapping to help keep your stream going.

The Talent 2 can generate a variety of graphics, including titles, lower thirds, animated text, clocks, lists, scoreboards, timers, and more. The device can help you create pre-set scenes and pull from up to 10 simultaneous IP sources. Both portrait and landscape mode are supported. Editing tools include chroma keying, cropping, and transitions. Whether you’re working in a studio or on location, the Talent 2 could be a very useful tool for compact multi-camera productions.
