I try not to think about it too obsessively, but photography is drawing with light. When I go out in the morning, I often have an idea as to what I want to photograph. However, that changes as I respond to the world in front of me and how it is illuminated, thrown in shadow, or somehow transformed by the light. Photography gives one the chance to “draw” what seems most important, to make a connection to the landscape and everything on it.
