It is so wonderful to see this amazing woman, photographer, artist, teacher, advisor and writer featured here as a Woman of Influence because that's exactly the role she's played in my professional life. Katrin served as an advisor to a major digital conversion project at a museum on Capitol Hill that housed a massive suffrage collection from Alice Paul's era of activism, that I headed, and was an invaluable resource with digital restoration of historic images and many other technical aspects of the project.
I first met Katrin at a workshop she did in Washington, DC, some 18+ yrs ago, and learned so much from her even though I'd already had many classes in Photoshop, and attended many seminars. Katrin is a masterful teacher, storyteller, writer, and each and every one of her books is chocked full of information that I still employ today in my own work, and still reference even though the versions of Photoshop/Lightroom continue to develop into more sophisticated products. Not only is her masterful knowledge of digital artistry of immense value, her skills as a photographer are also what sets her apart from many of her counterparts. Her ability to spot the masterpiece, as well as the "dud" that can become a great photographic work, with the skills that she often imparts to others, is as impressive as it gets.
Lastly, Katrin is such a warm, approachable, and unpretentious woman who any photographer/artist should feel honored to meet, and we need many, many more people in teaching/mentoring/advising roles just like her. Thank you, Katrin, for all you bring to the vast world of digital imaging, photography, storytelling, and teaching.
Love the way she thinks! (¬‿¬)
Years ago, I bought Katrin Eismann's book on Masking and Compositing. It was so chock-a-block full of superb information which was presented so superbly that I then bought another of her books, on Restoration and Retouching, even though I had no interest in those topics. Sure enough, that book, too, was crammed with useful goodies. It has all enhanced my post-processing and final results. I have since seen her books next to the workstations of some very experienced photographers and retouchers - they're that good.
Katrin strikes one as an outstanding teacher and a fine person. I would recommend her books heartily.

Katrin Eismann is a blessed Photographer and Instructor for Photography who just photographed people, ideas, and places all across the world. Eismann who did a very special lecture on Photography as a successful lecturer before being applauded by audience. Finally, Eismann has a wonderful website or a blog in where she has posted all of her own images.
