B&H is proud to announce the return of the Depth of Field conference. This two-day, one-of-a-kind event is tailored to the professional portrait, wedding, and event photography market, and features an incredible lineup of presenters, motivational speakers, and tons of exciting, hands-on experiences. The biggest names in the industry, alongside some of the top brands, will be on hand to teach, inspire, and help you elevate your craft. On top of that, attendees can enter for their chance to win a $2,500 B&H Gift Card through our exclusive Depth of Field Challenge. It all takes place February 11 and 12, from the 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., at the New Yorker Hotel, in Midtown Manhattan. You don’t want to miss it!

About the Show

This is the third installment of B&H’s Depth of Field conference. The original campaign was held in 2018, and in two short years, DOF has already become the must-attend event for portrait, wedding, and event photographers. Over the course of two days, attendees will gain insight and motivation from industry-leading professionals, get to test out the hottest gear in fully outfitted studio bays, meet and network with other photographers, and so much more.

This year’s conference will feature two legendary keynote speakers: Greg Gorman and Mick Rock, along with an incredible roster of top industry pros. Each speaker will deliver an hour-long presentation on topics in their fields of expertise. Whether you’re looking for real-world tips on craft or building up your business, or you just want some inspiration—there’s a presentation for you.

In addition to the presentations, Depth of Field offers a ton of hands-on experiences and opportunities. For those looking to spend some time in a studio, the Depth of Field Studio Experience offers just that—complete with sets, models, and an exhaustive list of gear. Several of the top brands will also be on hand, each with its own booth, to show off high end and up-to-date gear—plus, so much more.

To see the full schedule of speakers and learn about what Depth of Field has to offer you, be sure to check out the official DOF website.

How to Attend

Attending Depth of Field is easy. Simply register for the event to secure your free ticket and guarantee access to this one-of-a-kind experience. The registration process is fast, straightforward, and totally free. Once you register, you’re good to go. We’ll email you updates if there are any changes to the schedule or speakers. Otherwise, all you have to do is show up to The New Yorker Hotel on February 11 and 12, and enjoy the show.

Live Stream

Can’t attend Depth of Field, but still want to see the show? No problem. Even if you can’t make the show in person, you can still experience everything DOF has to offer, via our live stream. Streaming the show is easy—no special software or setup required. All you need to do is register. It takes seconds to do and, like the conference itself, is absolutely free.

And for those who can’t attend DOF or stream it, fret not. We’ll be taping several of the main-stage presentations and posting them on our YouTube channel, so even if you miss out on certain lectures, you’ll be able to revisit them.

Studio Experience

All attendees are encouraged to check out the B&H Depth of Field Studio Experience. The Studio Experience is an incredible opportunity for attendees to visit one of our fully kitted-out studio bays. Each bay features props, backdrops, models, and a full menu of camera equipment from the biggest names in the industry. Take your pick from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Tamron, Sigma, and so many more. Or you can stick with your own tried-and-true setup—the choice is yours.

To take part in the Studio Experience, you’ll need to reserve a time slot at the show. Each slot lasts for approximately one half hour, during which time you can create images for your portfolio, website, social platform, or even make promotional materials. It’s a great opportunity for photographers to explore new vistas, build their brand, and increase their clientele.

Like the Depth of Field conference, the Studio Experience is totally free. You just show up, sign up, and that’s it—you’re in. There’s no fee and the only equipment you need to bring is an SD card for storing images. Our one request is that attendees who take part in the Studio Experience use the #BHDoF hashtag whenever they post the images they made at the Studio Experience online.

DOF Challenge

The Studio Experience segues seamlessly into the B&H Depth of Field challenge, which requires you to visit one of the studio bays for a chance to win. For those of you unacquainted with the DOF Challenge, it’s pretty straightforward: Come to the show, see some booths, shoot some photos, win some serious cash.

The rules and regulations of the DOF Challenge are slightly more involved (you can read the legal mumbo-jumbo here), but that’s the gist of it. The bottom line is if you’re coming to Depth of Field, and you’re planning on taking photos or testing out gear, you need to take part in the DOF Challenge. It’s a great way to gain some experience, create some awesome images, get expert-level feedback, and, by the way, walk away with up to $2,500 in B&H gift cards (not to mention one of our sweet vests!).

This year’s Depth of Field conference has it all. Whether you’re looking for inspiration and instruction from the biggest names in the industry, or you just want to check out the hottest gear from the top camera brands in the world, DOF 2020 is for you. So join us on February 11 and 12, from 10:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M, at The New Yorker Hotel (8th Avenue at 34th Street), or watch in real time on our live stream. We can’t wait to share this one-of-a-kind experience with you.
