The new line of Impact Circular Reflectors offers a quick and easy way to fill in shadows or reduce contrast to give a refined look to your photo or video work. Available in 32, 42, and 52" diameters, the reflectors fold down to about 1/3 their open size to fit in their included case. Among the built-in convenience features are two grip-like handles that make it simple to handhold the reflector or bow it into a U-shape to suit your subject or light source. There are also two 3/8" sockets to make mounting on accessories or grip gear an option.
Dual-sided, translucent, and 5-in-1 versions are available. Impact offers the double-sided versions in Gold/Silver, Gold/White, Silver/White, Soft Gold/White, and Silver/Gold. High reflectance Silver renders a contrasty look with a cool color balance while Gold offers a warm amber effect like late afternoon or sunset. White produces a soft, neutral quality of light while the Soft Gold bathes your subject in warm light that nicely complements many skin tones. While the translucent versions do have some mild reflectance, they’re mainly used to reduce the contrast of harsh sources like the noonday sun, or to act like a makeshift softbox to diffuse a bare flash or light fixture. If you’re having trouble deciding which to buy, the 32 or 42" 5-in-1 reflector is a great option—it has Silver, Gold, White, and Black surfaces, as well as a translucent disc.
