Get Twice as Close with the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital MC-20 2x Teleconverter

One of the advantages of crop-sensor cameras, especially Micro Four Thirds systems, is the ability to hit super-telephoto focal lengths with incredibly small lenses. And, now, with the new Olympus M.Zuiko Digital MC-20 2x Teleconverter, you can double your reach on some amazing Olympus lenses.

The MC-20 2x teleconverter is compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm f/4.0 IS PRO, giving shooters 80-300mm and 600mm focal lengths, respectively, and which, on a Micro Four Thirds camera, gives the 35mm equivalent field of view of a 160-600mm or 1200mm. When attached to the 300mm f/4.0 IS PRO lens, the teleconverter gives the lens nearly a nearly half-size reproduction (0.48x) at the minimum focus distance—allowing very close-up shooting at the 1200mm equivalent at a good distance from the subject. This is a great feature when photographing small critters that might get spooked by the close proximity of other lenses. Of course, remember that your maximum effective aperture is reduced by two stops when using the 2x teleconverter.

The teleconverter features a 9-element, 4-group optical design that serves to reduce various aberrations, and the ZERO coating works to control ghosting and flares. And, like the M.Zuiko Digital MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter, Olympus delivers sparkling autofocus speed, the same 5-axis image stabilization, and the same weatherproof construction as its PRO lenses and top-end cameras.
