JOBY has announced four new accessories perfect for a wide range of video uses, from on-the-go vlogging to business conference calls. First, the GripTight Mount and Wall Mount simplify smartphone recording with MagSafe-compatible devices. Next, the Vert L-Bracket offers a secure means of creating vertical content when using compact mirrorless cameras. Finally, the Beamo 12" Ring Light brightens video capture while providing a flexible base for accessories and easily integrating with JOBY’s support ecosystem.
JOBY’s MagSafe accessories are compatible with iPhone 12 and later smartphones. The GripTight Mount features two modes of attachment, depending upon how secure you need your smartphone to be. For quick usage, your phone can simply be held in place via a magnet. For added support, you can clamp your phone into place using retractable jaws. The entire unit can be spun 360 degrees for quickly transitioning from landscape to portrait capture and vice versa. Near-universal compatibility with tripods and supports is provided via a ¼"-20 mount on the bottom of the unit. As its name implies, the GripTight Wall Mount allows you to mount a MagSafe-compatible smartphone on any flat or smooth surface for hands-free recording in virtually any environment without needing additional accessories.
The Vert is an L-bracket that allows you to create vertical content easily with compact mirrorless cameras using the BallHead 3K system. The Vert also includes a cold shoe mount so you can add lights, microphones, or other accessories to your rig as needed. Bubble levels are built into the horizontal and vertical axes to help straighten your camera. A ¼"-20 mount on the bottom of the unit can be used with an extensive variety of tripods and supports in and out of the JOBY ecosystem.
Once you have your recording device secured, it is time to think about lighting. That’s where JOBY’s new Beamo 12" LED Ring Light shines. From business conference calls to actor self-tapes, ring lights exploded in popularity over the past year on account of the ease with which they produce flattering light for close-range recording. The Beamo offers ten brightness levels and three color temperature options (3000K, 4000K, and 5600K) for approximating ambient light. Four cold shoe positions allow you to attach accessories like microphones where you need them, and a cold shoe to ¼"-20 thread adapter is also included for simple mounting on compatible supports. Power is supplied via a USB-A cable, which can be paired with a separately available external battery or power adapter. A carrying case is included for safe storage and transport.
