Leica Celebrates Canada's 150th Anniversary with Special Edition M-P

In celebration of Canada’s 150th Anniversary, Leica has developed the M-P (Typ 240) Canada Edition, set for release exclusively in North America. The camera itself is engraved with the official Canada 150 emblem, which is a stylized maple leaf with the shape of 13 diamonds that represent all of Canada’s provinces while four inner diamonds represent Canada’s initial provinces at Confederation. The body also sports a silver chrome finish and red cowhide leather wrap to complete the Canadian theme and it comes with a silver Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH lens that sports an identical engraving. Only 25 pieces will be made and the serial number is engraved on the hot shoe and the front ring of the lens. Along with the camera is a Red Rope Strap that matches the leather of the camera and a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Leica Camera’s CEO, Matthias Harsch.
