Lowepro Introduces a Variety of Cases Aimed at Pro Photographers

0Share

A veteran maker of camera bags, Lowepro continues to refine its product line with the release of four models aimed at professional photographers and videographers. These are diverse models ranging from single-camera packs, like the m-Trekker HP120, seen in black Cordura and gray Canvex fabrics, all the way up to carry-ons for airline travel, with the PhotoStream SP 200 roller bag. The other offerings include the full-featured Nova 200 AW II for holding a pro DSLR plus two to four lenses, and the m-Trekker SH150 in black or gray that can carry a mirrorless system plus a 10" tablet.

Starting out small, the m-Trekker HP120 pouch is, interestingly, one of the most versatile options of the newly released models. Thanks to an adjustable strap with a quick-release buckle, the bag can be configured to be worn in three different ways: hanging on your shoulder, cross-body over your chest or back, or around your waist as a belt pack. This allows you to find the best fit and switch between configurations, depending on the job at hand. The main compartment's interior dimensions are 9.8 x 2.8 x 5.1" and it comes with padded dividers for protection, as well as exterior zip pockets on the front and rear, to store small accessories.

The next model is the m-Trekker SH150, which is only slightly larger than the HP120, with interior dimensions of 10.2 x 3.9 x 6.7". Despite a similar size, the SH150 adds several features such as a dedicated pocket for a 10" tablet and a larger flap with dual buckle closures to help protect your equipment from the elements. Gone is the adjustable strap design, which is replaced by a regular detachable shoulder strap, as well as a small top handle. For added storage, small stretch pouches are added to the sides of the bag so you can hold memory cards or batteries.

Perhaps the one best suited for field use, the Nova 200 AW II shoulder bag, comfortably fits a DSLR or mirrorless camera plus extra lenses and a flash. A larger main compartment of 13.6 x 7.3 x 7.9" is complemented by adjustable dividers, which allow you to customize the interior space and best suit your gear. Three zippered exterior pockets give you plenty of room for small items, with the back pouch offering a trolley sleeve for easy travel when used in conjunction with a larger bag. Finally, an all-weather cover is included with this bag and can help shield your gear when working in rain or snow.

As for the largest member of our group, the PhotoStream SP 200 is the only one with a telescoping handle and rotating wheels, so you can roll around with your equipment easily. And you will thank those wheels when you're packing two professional DSLRs, six lenses, a flash, a 15" laptop, and whatever else you manage to fit in this case. The model is designed with airline travel in mind, featuring a durable nylon and EVA hard shell for protection and exterior dimensions of 13.8 x 8.8 x 21.7" that should meet carry-on requirements for most airlines (though I would recommend checking with your carrier before booking). And if you need to grab something quickly, you can simply fold out the front panel for easy access to your laptop or tablet without having to open the rest of the case.
