As CFexpress Type A cameras continue to evolve and allow us to capture photos and videos at higher bit rates and resolutions, we’ll need media that can keep up. To this end, Nextorage has brought us their NX-A2PRO and NX-A2AE CFexpress 4.0 Type A memory cards, plus their NX-SA1PRO CFexpress 4.0 Type A Card Reader for quickly downloading media.
The NX-A2PRO series comes in capacities of 160GB, 320GB, and 640GB, while the NX-A2AE series offers capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. Both lineups use the PCIe 4.0 interface to deliver maximum read speeds of 1950 MB/s and maximum write speeds of 1900 MB/s, although the A2 Pro provides sustained write speeds of 1900 MB/s and minimum write speeds of 800 MB/s, while the A2AE features slightly lower sustained write speeds of 1400 MB/s and minimum write speeds of 400 MB/s. All of this makes both cards well suited for recording 8K, raw, and high bit rates photos and videos, but the higher read and write speeds of the A2 Pro give it the edge if you need high speed performance.
When you’re done shooting and ready to download, the NX-SA1PRO has one CFexpress 4.0 Type A card slot and connects to your host system using its 40 Gb/s USB4 interface with data transfers of up to 1650 MB/s, which is backed by an integrated heatsink that helps keep operations cool, even during intense operations.
