Innovative pop-up pod maker Under the Weather has unveiled its latest in a series of protective tents well suited for creatives working in variable weather conditions. Of these tents, the PhotoPod is designed specifically for photographers and videographers to work comfortably while gear remains safe and dry. Meanwhile, with its larger configurations, the MyPod provides shelter from the elements for up to two people.
The PhotoPod can withstand rain, sleet, and icy winds, among other kinds of environmental hazards such as dust and debris. The pod is engineered with tapered sides and a wider base for blunting winds, making it especially handy in the winter months when working for long periods of time outdoors.
Standing at around seven feet tall, the PhotoPod is tall and wide enough to accommodate a person as well as a tripod or other fixture for stabilizing gear. It has been designed meticulously for easy use, popping open or folding down in mere seconds. Also included is the compact carrying case that brings the total weight of this package to around 10.2 lb. Considering the weight, the PhotoPod is sturdy and excellent for traveling.
As far as practicality for creators, the PhotoPod features clear zippered PVC panels with camera slots on three sides for 270° of viewing angles. These slots allow the occupant to pop their camera out from within the tent easily for the best, unobstructed shot. Cables and power sources can be run through the handy zippered vent on the back.
While the PhotoPod is great for an outdoorsy photographer or videographer, the MyPod is handy for keeping subjects warm and dry while shooting outdoors. Available in XL and 2XL configurations, Under the Weather has shelter solutions to accommodate up to two people at a time.
Comprising cold-treated clear PVC plastic just like the PhotoPod, subjects can enjoy insulated comfort and 270° of viewing angles with zippered entrances on three sides in the MyPod. XL and 2XL tents can fit one or two chairs, respectively, so subjects can sit comfortably and warm up between takes.
These multipurpose shelters are also great for spectating during sports games on cold days or protection from the sun during the spring and summer. With both XL and 2XL sizes available in several colors, photographers and outdoor enthusiasts alike can splurge on a useful five pack for spur-of-the-moment outings or for accommodating multiple subjects on set.
