Godox has grown their flash lineup with the introduction of the Lux Junior II, a compact retro-styled flash reimagined for even greater versatility. For those unfamiliar, the Godox Lux series brought a classic style, reminiscent of the golden age of photography, into the modern era. The Lux Junior II continues this trend, while delivering new and exciting features that can only benefit the photographers.
The first upgrade is the adoption of a dual-axis rotating design. The flash body itself rotates 180 degrees, while the head tilts up to 90 degrees. This allows users to articulate the flash like never before, offering flexible bounce flash for both horizontal and vertical shooting conditions. Speaking of flexibility: the Lux Junior II can be fired off camera.
Like many of Godox’s flash units, the Lux Junior II features a built-in 2.4GHz wireless receiver. This allows the unit to be triggered remotely when paired with a compatible transmitter like the Godox X3 or XPro II Triggers, opening even more creative possibilities with off-camera or multi-light setups.
The Lux Junior II is compatible with a wide range of camera systems, including Sony, Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, OM System, and Panasonic. It features beginner friendly intelligent TTL and built-in Auto mode, meaning the flash can automatically adjust flash output for accurate exposures. It also supports professional flash functionality with high-speed sync up to 1/8000s, front and rear curtain sync.
But wait, there’s more. Godox has also announced two new mounting solutions, with the Standard and K3 Electric Suction base, which enables users to mount any camera flash unit or studio LED light to tables with glossy surfaces, windows, or walls. The Standard base can support up to 12.7 oz whereas the K3 Kit can handle up to 2.6 lbs. Both can be released with the press of just one button. This opens up creative opportunities in spaces where traditional light stands simply can’t fit.
As you can see, Godox continues to deliver game-changing lighting tools. The Godox Lux Junior II is ideal for street photography, indoor portraits, parties, film, documentary work, and beyond.
