Sigma has entered the FUJIFILM mirrorless world equipped with a trio of Contemporary lenses: a 16mm f/1.4, 30mm f/1.4, and 56mm f/1.4. Occupying three popular focal lengths and sharing a bright, f/1.4 maximum aperture, the new lenses provide a solid foundation for Sigma to increase the number of its X-Mount offerings over time.
Starting with the widest of the three, the 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary translates to the 35mm equivalent of 24mm when used on cameras with FUJIFILM’s APS-C sensor. Perfect for landscape, architecture, and street photography, this lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9.8" and maximum magnification of 1:9.9. Boasting the most complex optical design of the new lenses, it consists of 16 elements arranged in 13 groups to keep images sharp and distortion minimal. Unsurprisingly, it is also the heftiest of the three, measuring 2.8 × 3.6" and weighing 14.3 oz. It accepts a 67mm front filter.
With an equivalent focal length of 45mm, the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary occupies the middle ground of Sigma’s initial offering for X-Mount, providing a versatile focal length useful for everything from street to portraits. Comprising 9 elements arranged in 7 groups, this everyday carry can focus as close as 11.8", providing a maximum magnification of 1:7. It is the lightest of the new lenses, weighing 9.7 oz and measuring 2.6 × 2.9". It accepts a 52mm front filter.
Last, but not least, the 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary provides the 35mm equivalent of 84mm, making it the lens of choice for portrait photographers considering Sigma’s new collection. Optically, it consists of 10 elements in 6 groups, can focus up to 19.7" and has a maximum magnification of 1:7.4. It is the smallest of the new lenses, measuring just 2.6 × 2.4" and weighing 9.9 oz. It accepts 55mm filters.

I would like to see the Sigma 150-600 for Fuji X mount
How about Z mount..?
At this time, Sigma hasn't shared any plans for the release of a Nikon Z mount version of these lenses. We would reiterate that through our B&H E-Mail Newsletter if Sigma does make such an announcement in the future.
How about a 28-70?
At this time, Sigma hasn't shared any plans for the release of a 28-70mm lens for the Fuji X mount just yet. In the event that they do make such an assignment, we would reiterate that through our B&H E-Mail Newsletter.
Sigma 16mm, and 30mm 1.4 lenses; ideal lens for crop frame video formats. Quite sharp lenses are wide open.
Lack of aperture rings makes make these non-starters for me, unfortunately.
Love this news! It would be great to see a 150-600 telephoto. I'm currently using the Sigma Canon mount lens with an adapter, but would love to have one designed for Fuji X-mount.
Great to see Sigma entering the X mount world. Personally I would like to see a long telephoto, say a 300mm f/4 with converters.
I’m always glad to welcome new glass and I’m very happy with my fujifilm 70-300 that takes both teleconverters. What I’m really looking forward to is the new fujifilm X-H2.
