Venus Optics is announcing two new mount compatibilities for its Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5X Ultra Macro APO lens: an autofocus FUJIFILM X lens and a manual focus Nikon F lens.
The first telephoto macro lens in the Laowa lineup, the 180mm f/4.5 1.5X Ultra Macro APO combines an advanced optical design with a lightweight build for a convenient yet powerful lens for all skill levels. The lens achieves its compact size in part due to its f/4.5 aperture, a choice made to prioritize the portability of the lens.
The lens promises small subjects rendered with extraordinary detail, thanks to a 1.5:1 magnification ratio and a minimum focusing distance of just 11.8”. The optical design features nine elements in 12 groups, including two Extra-low Dispersion Glass elements, as well as Ultra-high Refraction Glass for corner-to-corner sharpness. The apochromatic (APO) design further reduces chromatic aberration in both in focus and out of focus areas of an image. All together, these elements produce exceptional image quality at any distance.
