Angelbird has announced a new, shockingly capacious CFexpress Type A card: the 1TB AV PRO CFexpress Type A Memory Card. This massive card was designed specifically for use with Sony Alpha and FX cameras, including the Sony a1, a7 IV, a7S III, the Sony FX3, and the FX6.
According to Angelbird, the new card supports a minimum sustained write speed of 650 MB/s and maximum read/write speeds of 820 MB/s and 730 MB/s, respectively. If accurate, these sustained high speeds should provide the performance necessary for capturing high-data rate video, stills, and burst photos in up to 8K RAW.
The new card comes with 1TB of storage, making it the largest-capacity CFexpress Type A card currently available. It's presently priced at $499.99, which is a tremendous value over other CFexpress Type A cards that A) typically cost more and B) offer less storage.
Alongside the new card, Angelbird also released a new Card Reader and Tank Case designed specifically for Type A cards.
