The last time we heard from Anton Bauer about new batteries was when the company released its CINE series, and the Digital series before that. Those batteries were introduced with advances in power and function, as well as with aesthetic redesigns. But the famed Anton Bauer Dionic batteries, which for years were among the top models in the industry, saw no upgrades nor much spotlight the entire time, although they continued to be made and sold year after year. And now their time has come. Today, Anton Bauer announced the Dionic XT90 and Dionic XT150 14.4V Gold mount and V-mount lithium ion batteries, designed to compete with the best of the best.
Supporting up to 12A constant current draws (and even 20A for two seconds of inrush), they're made to power-up the most demanding full-size cine cameras and LED lights. They offer a 1000+ life cycles, a multi-mode backlit LCD—on the side where it can easily be checked, USB and P-Tap outputs, an operating temperature range of -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and compatibility with third-party chargers. They're also new and different aesthetically, while retaining the traditional brick form that fits in existing flight cases. So far, we know these new Dionic batteries to have greater run time, high current, next-generation Li-ion cell technology for optimal longevity and performance, and years of Anton Bauer experience.
