Things just keep getting better for the Z CAM E2. The latest news comes courtesy of a partnership with Atomos, to enable ProRes RAW recording via the HDMI output of the E2. Of course, you’ll need a Ninja V to make this all work, but that combination was already worthwhile before this update. Now you’ll be able to unlock 12-bit ProRes RAW recording in 4K at up to 60p. And now might be the perfect time to pick up this winning combination, because Atomos has just revealed new discounts for the compact monitor/recorder.
Capturing ProRes RAW with the Z CAM E2 will provide the most flexibility in post-production. Editors will be able to push and pull information in ways that standard formats can’t provide. Combined with such a compact system, in general, you have a seriously useful system. You can even find an Advanced Kit that includes everything you need to get started. One bonus feature coming to the E2+Ninja V combo is the ability to control certain camera settings via the Ninja V’s touchscreen. You will need a separately available connection cable to make this happen.
