The video department at B&H Photo is pleased to announce the 7artisans Vision Cine line of cine-style prime lenses for mirrorless cameras. Crafted expressly for video use, these 25, 35, and 50mm lenses feature a super-fast T1.05 maximum aperture, cine-standard 0.8 MOD gearing, lovely bokeh, and focus scales in both feet and meters. Each focal length comes in Canon RF, Sony E, FUJIFILM X, Leica L, and MFT mounts.
To help speed lens changes between shots, each lens in this series has its focus and iris gears in the same relative position, making it easy to swap lenses without spending time readjusting the position of your follow focus unit or iris motor. The 90mm front diameter is also common to the series, letting you use the same matte box clamp-on ring or donut for all the lenses.
Inside the lenses, ED (extra-low dispersion) glass helps to produce high-quality images while, on the outside, the durable metal housing stands up to repeated on-set use. When you’d rather do without the weight of a matte box, the Vision Cine lenses’ front threading enables you to attach an 82mm filter directly on the lens. Cine-style features also include a “click-less” aperture ring for smooth, silent iris pulls for when your lighting levels shift during a take and a long 270° focus throw.
Which of these additions to the 7artisans cine-style lineup is right for you? Respond and tell us why in the Comments section, below.
