To accommodate more digital cinema cameras with smaller and smaller form factors, Cooke has combined the “Cooke Look” with an ultra-compact, lightweight housing in its new S8/i FF cinema lens line, providing the best of cinematic imagery and mobility. The S8/i FF line features seven new lenses with a very fast T1.4 to T22 aperture range, and they cover an expansive area with the 25mm, 32mm,40mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, and 135mm PL-mount lens models. Each lens is lighter and more compact than previous lines, ideal for handheld or even aerial productions, and they are designed to cover the large, full-frame sensors of compact digital cinema cameras.

The S8/i FF lenses also feature the latest Cooke /i lens data technology, providing focus and iris position, motion/inertia data, as well as mapping and calibration data. The optics feature controlled flaring, low distortion, and limited spherical aberration, and they are color balanced to match the profile of other Cooke cinema lenses, so they fit right into your existing kit. The S8/i FF line comes in PL and LPL mount models.

Other features of the S/i FF line include a shared 104mm front diameter, standard 0.8 MOD gears, a 9-blade iris for cinematic bokeh, smooth focus movement, focus scales on both sides of the lens for easy reading. Scratch-resistant finish and durable construction prevents damage when out in the field in varying environmental conditions. The lenses are also created to be more modular than their predecessors, enhancing reliability and providing easier servicing.
