Here at B&H Photo, we are pleased to introduce the Vinten flowtech 100, a 100mm bowl version of the popular flowtech 75 carbon fiber tripod. Bumping the original flowtech 75's payload capacity from 44 lb to 66 lb, the flowtech 100 is designed to support most ENG and cine-style camera rigs. The flowtech features a single clamp at the top of each leg, used to lock/unlock all three sections simultaneously. This innovative design saves an incredible amount of time and bother otherwise spent stooping or stretching to fasten up to three locks per leg on traditional tripods.
The flowtech 100 tripod is available to use with your existing 100mm ball head, or paired in bundles with Vinten's Vision 8AS, Vision 10A, or Vision 100 heads. A carbon fiber mid-level spreader and a set of rubber feet are included with each tripod. For smooth dollying with foot-operated braking, the flowtech rolling spreader is available to add to your package.
A carbon fiber, flatter leg design lends the flowtech 100 both robust torsional stability (to eliminate twisting when panning) and a more comfortable fit for carrying the tripod over your shoulder. A versatile hinge design enables you to set the tripod at both high and low angle, reducing the need for a set of baby sticks. Weighing only 7 lb itself, or 9 lb with spreader and feet, the tripod height ranges from 10 to 60" without the spreader and from 20 to 61" with the mid-level spreader attached. The spreader features four locking positions and is particularly useful for narrow tripod footprints or on uneven terrain.
Besides the rapid-setup, lightweight design, users will appreciate additional flowtech 100 features like a carrying handle, magnetic locks to click the legs together quickly for transport, and three 3/8"-16 accessory mounts.
