Fast-Charging, Powerful New VCLX NM2 Block Battery from Anton Bauer

Smart, versatile, and fast—Anton Bauer has upped the block-battery game with the release of its new VCLX NM2 14.4/28/48V cine-style battery. With intelligent management functions, simultaneous 28 and 14.4V or 48 and 14.4 V outputs, and an industry-leading, five-hour charging time, the VCLX NM2 is ready to meet the power needs of a variety of pro video and cine-style cameras and gear. The magnetic VCLX 2 Charger, a 48" XLR Charging Cable, and the NM44 Cell Replacement Module round out this latest battery option from Anton Bauer.

CLXNM2 Block Battery

High-Current Applications: the VCLX NM2 block battery has your high-current uses covered with continuous draw options of 12A at 14.4V, 16A at 28V, or 12A at 48V. Power is output to your pro video and cine equipment via one 3-pin XLR and two 4-pin XLR ports, and there’s even a 5V, 2A USB Type-A connector for keeping your mobile devices topped up. Ergonomic design touches include a top handle, side and corner bumpers, and rubber port covers to keep out dust and debris.

Intelligent Functions: features like an advanced charging algorithm, a microprocessor fuel computer, and smart fuses keep the VCLX NM2 at peak performance. Information like battery condition, unit IDs, cycle counts, time-stamped errors, and more can be viewed right on the battery, or for larger projects or rental house use, via the built-in Wi-Fi and the optional Anton Bauer Fleet management program. The integrated microprocessor features sophisticated input/output energy monitoring that accounts for the battery’s age, charging/discharging rates, any cell imbalances, and more. The smart electronic fuses will reset and self-heal when the battery detects it is safe to do so.

LCD Screen: check your remaining battery capacity with a glance at the top-mounted 2.4" color LCD. This screen features a continuous real-time display of the remaining power and three soft buttons for easy menu navigation.

VCLX 2 Charger

The dedicated VCLX 2 charger features a nifty magnetic mount that nestles right against the side of the battery. This new charger is downright petite at 9.5 x 4 x 2.5 and is roughly half the size of the 10 x 8.5 x 2.25" original charger. The individual charger design means you no longer need to lug a dual or quad charger with you when you’ll be charging only one battery at a time—when you’re on a B camera or a 2nd unit, for example. Its advanced algorithm creates a fast five-hour charging time, shaving two hours off the previous model’s charging cycle. Note that the 48" XLR Charging Cable is not included with the charger but is available separately, so you can order backups if desired.

NM44 Cell Replacement Module

Rental house owners, studios, and other heavy battery users will be pleased to know that when a VCLX NM2 does reach the end of its lifespan, the NM44 Cell Replacement Module is available at roughly half the cost of the full battery unit.
