Add advanced wireless video to your image capture using DJI’s latest cinema-grade video transmission components. This handy production tool’s latest options include an individual Wireless Video Receiver and a Transmission Standard TX/RX Combo kit that comes with one transmitter and one receiver.
With the release of these compact new components, users now have the option to transmit from their Ronin 4D or third-party camera to their choice of monitors and/or to the 7" receiver/monitor found in the previously released Transmitter and High-Bright RX Monitor Combo.
Long-Range Transmission
The DJI Transmission System uses DJI O3 Pro technology to support up to 1080p60 video at line-of-sight distances up to 20,000'. Minimal latency enables you to see crucial moments as they happen without delay and AES 256-bit encryption ensures that your content stays secure. In addition to 2.4 and 5.8 GHz, in control mode this system uses a DFS frequency band to offer an additional 23 channels.
To provide compatibility with a range of cine-style and mirrorless/DSLR cameras, the transmitter features 3G-SDI (BNC) and HDMI input; it also provides a 3G-SDI loop output for onboard monitor viewing at the camera. The receiver unit provides simultaneous 3G-SDI and HDMI output, enabling you to link to multiple displays. Use the versatile receiver with the DJI Ronin 4D camera or pair it with the transmitter and your third-party camera.
Broadcast and Control Modes
In broadcast mode, you can use a transmitter with an unlimited number of receivers (including the High-Bright Monitor), letting your multiple crew members see the action as it unfolds. Broadcast mode offers two image-quality options―HD mode with a 40 Mb/s bitrate for higher quality but fewer channel selections and smooth mode with 20 Mb/s transmission, providing lower video quality but offering a greater number of channels.
Use control mode to extend the transmission distance, reduce the chance of interference, and enable dynamic bitrate adjustments and seamless frequency hopping. Control mode also offers DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) channels for use with DJI Master Wheels, Three-Channel Follow Focus, and Ronin 4D Handgrips. Users can employ automatic frequency hopping to help maintain a steady signal or swap channels manually to avoid interference on busy sets.
Metadata Transfer
When used with mainstream cinema cameras like ARRI and RED, the transmitter-and-receiver combo can transfer metadata―simply connect the system via the SDI port.
Talkback Function
Thanks to the new receiver’s call function, you can easily exchange comments and instructions with your operator or another crew member while maintaining an appropriate distance from the camera. This talkback feature can be activated between the Video Transmitter and Receiver using their USB-C ports and a pair of compatible 3.5m input/output headsets.
Power Options
A trio of power options for the transmitter and receiver unit include a D-Tap to DC power input cable, as well as WB37 and Sony L-series battery adapters.
