Tokina is aggressively expanding its cinema-lens lineup and, at NAB this year, is showing off a pair of impressive optics: a 105mm T1.5 Vista Prime and 11-20mm T2.9 Cinema ATX. Two very different options, these lenses help flesh out the overall cinema line and cover some valuable focal lengths for shooters.
Extending the overall reach of the Vista Prime lineup is the 105mm, which manages to cover full-frame sensors, offer an incredibly fast T1.5 transmission, and work well at up to 8K resolution. Certainly a long lens, it sits in direct contrast to the company's last release, the ultra-wide 18mm, which was also shown off and is due out soon. This 105mm will be appealing for capture details, close-ups, and for a flattering perspective when working with people. Along with all the Vista primes, the 105mm will be available in Canon EF, Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, and PL mounts and will join the current 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm options.
The other lens announced was the 11-20mm T2.9 Cinema ATX, a zoom range many shooters may be familiar with from Tokina's still-photo options. This lens was designed as a more versatile alternative to the 11-16mm that is already available and is designed to cover APS-C and Super35 sensors where it offers an ~16.5-30mm equivalent range. It also has a close focus range of about 1.6' and is optimized for cinema, with minimal breathing. Also, Tokina claims that this lens will offer improvements to image quality compared to the 11-16mm.
These lenses will be made available later this year in a variety of mounts for maximum compatibility. Are you interested in any of Tokina's Cinema lineup? Let us know what you think in the Comments section, below!

Do you know if the Tokina 11-20mm T2.9 will be an interchangeable or MFT mount lens? I'm hoping to buy one, but I cant find it on your search engine on BHphoto website. Thanks
While this lens is not yet available, I would expect it to come in the same mounts as existing Tokina Cinema lenses. Namely, Canon EF, Micro Four Thirds, Sony E, and PL mounts.
OK GREAT, THANK YOU.
