New High-End, Full-Frame Cine Primes from Zeiss

We at B&H Photo are pleased to announce the new line of full-frame lenses from pro-cine lens maker Zeiss, the Supreme Primes. These high-end lenses feature full-frame coverage in a relatively lightweight, compact form, suited for a wide range of rig configurations. Use the Supreme Primes to capture stunning images with large-format cameras like the ARRI ALEXA LF, Panavision Millennium DXL2, Sony Venice, and RED MONSTRO.

Pack these primes along for a trek in the most remote location—their rugged construction holds up to extended use and extreme temperatures. Color-matched across the series, the PL-mount Supreme Primes have a 46.3mm image circle, covering sensors even larger than full-frame. Most of these primes open to a fast T1.5 maximum iris. All include a 14-blade iris for smoothly rounded bokeh (out-of-focus highlights), and a reversible focus-scale ring with marks in feet and meters. User-friendly features include a common 95mm front diameter over most of the series, and standard focus and iris ring positioning to enable quick lens changes when using a FIZ-control system, matte box, or other accessories.

The 25, 29, 35, 50, and 85mm lenses are available for pre-order now, with a 100mm coming later this year. A total of thirteen lenses will ultimately be released, ranging from 15mm to 200mm. The Zeiss Supreme Primes can be purchased individually or in kits of six lenses, with the standard reversible feet/meter focus scale, or in special-order metric-only versions.
