Panasonic Announces "World's First" PTZ Cameras with Global Shutter Sensor

Panasonic Announces First PTZ Cameras with Global Shutter Sensors

Panasonic is shaking up the professional PTZ game with the new AW-UE200, AW-UE210, AW-UER200, and AW-UER210, all available in black or white and featuring a groundbreaking global shutter MOS sensor. The R-variations add a roll functionality while the 210-versions sport built-in SMPTE ST 2110 and Dante compatibility. These pro-level 4K PTZ cameras are built for demanding sports, live events, virtual production, corporate video, and more.

The biggest selling point here is the 1.2” global shutter 5K MOS sensor, which is capable of accurately recording LED video walls, dynamic event lighting, fast-moving athletes, and other tough subjects that proved troublesome for traditional PTZ sensors. The global shutter minimizes flickering and banding, while the oversampled 4K final image is sharp and detail-rich. The 35mm-equivalent focal range for the cameras is 22.5-500mm, and all the models will support high frame rate (HFR) shooting at 120 and 180 fps following a future firmware update.

The cameras have a 22x optical zoom with a variable zooming speed, plus high speed pan and tilt performance that can still maintain precise positioning. The AW-UE200 series can reach maximum speeds of 400 deg/s, allowing it to follow even the fastest moving subjects. The AW-UER200 series isn’t quite as speedy, but it adds a roll mechanism with a range of -200° to +200°. This opens up countless creative possibilities and effects, allows for one-touch horizontal leveling, and makes the R-series ideal for any social-bound 9:16 capture.

The 210-version models add seamless IP integration that supports SMPTE ST 2110 standards and Dante audio networks. This allows for video return workflows via IP, as well as IP-based Dante operation protocols. Low-latency JPEG XS transmission will be supported in these models via a future firmware update. For teams with demanding PTZ workflows, these new Panasonic cameras are certainly worth a look. The new models are being shown at the 2026 International Broadcasting Convention (IBC), but won’t ship out until 2027.
