It's IBC 2019 time, and Core SWX has just enhanced its powerful professional Hypercore battery lineup with the Hypercore NEO 9 Mini series compact lithium-ion batteries. The NEO 9 Mini packs a load of features into an efficient, modular form including a high-current delivery, RFID vitals, USB firmware upgradable, discharge protection, a backlit LCD, and is available in V-mount or Gold mount models. It is also compatible with most existing V-mount and Gold mount chargers, allowing the NEO 9 to fit right into your existing setup.
The compact NEO 9 Minis feature a 98Wh capacity with a continuous 12A draw and a whopping 16A peak draw to satisfy your power-hungry equipment. The bright, backlit LCD displays various statistics, so you can make informed decisions quickly, such as nominal run time if you're running on 25W load, what your remaining run time is when the NEO is connected to your equipment, and how much run time is left while charging. And yes, the packs also feature an LED gauge for quick-glance level check.
The NEO 9 also features numerous handy smart functions: battery vitals and statistics can be read from an RFID reader or a phone app, camera data can communicate via one- or two-wire protocols, a smart 12 VDC D-Tap output can power your camera or accessories and also send battery data, and an additional 5V USB port can charge smaller devices such as your smartphone. The NEO 9s are also firmware upgradeable via a new USB port so you can add functionality over time. They also feature a hibernation mode, which puts your battery to sleep after 48 hours to prevent power drain while it's idle.
Core SWX takes battery transport seriously, and made sure to certify the batteries as UN38.3 travel-safe, providing a storage mode that can discharge or power your battery to travel-safe levels, depending on the requirements of specific carriers. The rubberized battery housing protects the inner cells from damage in the case of drops or impacts, as well as providing a solid grip during handling. The Hypercore NEO 9 Mini is also rated for 2,000 cycles, so along with the numerous protections and safety functions, this dependable battery will remain a long-term workhorse.
